Cupcake

My sister brought back some Kiko nail polish from her stay in Europe. 2 of them were from their cupcake collection. So of course, I have to use them for cupcake nails!

Polish for Nail Stamping

I decided to compile a list of the nail polish I have that works well for nail stamping. I will continue to add to this list as I collect more nail polish.

I'm very excited to show you all this. It is my first time doing advanced stamping. It took a few tries but I think it looks pretty cool.

Then & Now

My first blog post was 9/29/2013. I posted these nails

So here I am, 6 months later, and I have to let you all know that practice really makes a big difference.

My recreation of Marc Jacob's daisy nails.

Pinky and index finger each have 3 coats of Cover Girl Outlast Constant Candy. I used a dotting tool and Zoya Tomoko for the golden dot.
Middle and thumb each have 3 coats of Cover Girl Outlast Constant Candy. I used a dotting tool and Essie Blanc and Zoya Tomoko for the daisies and dots.
Ring finger has 2 coats of Zoya Tomoko.

Spring Floral

It is still snowing on a weekly basis here and I am so sick of it. Crossing my fingers for Spring to come soon.

I applied 3 coats of Zoya Cole to my pinky, index, and thumb. Zoya Cole is part of their new Spring collection. It is a peachy orange creme color. Goes on smoothly and looks gorgeous!
Middle finger has 2 coats of Zoya Lux from their new Pixie Dust collection. It's a sparkly pink. Looks like crushed pink diamonds on my nails.
Ring finger has 2 coats of Essie Blanc. I used a makeup sponge and sponged on Zoya Cole, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow, Essie Play Date, and Essie Mojito Madness. I drew on the flowers using a nail art brush and Essie Licorice. A few spots of Essie Mojito Madness for leaves.

Inspired by Chelsea King.

Gwen Stefani O.P.I

I recently bought 4 new O.P.I nail polishes from the Gwen Stefani collection. I used 3 of them today.

I applied 2 coats of Gwen Stefani O.P.I Hey Baby. It is a bright pink creme polish. I layered 1 coat of Gwen Stefani O.P.I In True Stefani Fashion. It is a very dense silver and holographic glitter polish. My nails look like a bottle of glitter threw up on a hooker. I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or not.

On a more positive note, I applied 1 coat of Lay Down That Base with 2 coats of Gwen Stefani O.P.I Push And Shove on my ring fingers. It is a chrome mirror finish (no top coat needed). It looks like someone melted silver on my nails. So fabulous.

Blues

Picked up 2 new polishes at CVS this weekend.
I have been looking for a sapphire blue and Aruba Blue by Essie is perfect. 2 coats were enough but I think a 3rd coat would have made it even more opaque.
This was my first time trying a textured polish. I bought Blue-Berry Sweet On You by Nicole O.P.I from the Gumdrops collection. It feels a little like sandpaper. 2 coats and NO top coat. Top coat will ruin the formula. It went on smoothly and was so easy to apply.
My husband said he really likes Aruba Blue by Essie.
